For olive growers, harvest is the final moment of the cultivation process, but at the same it time marks the beginning of a step which will then lead to the transformation of the drupes into excellent quality olive oil or to the preparation of table olives.
The experience of the olive growers translates into the ability to always identify the best harvesting methods, based on the variety of olives, the drupe destination, the climatic conditions, or the characteristics of the tree. Selecting the technologies, techniques and most appropriate equipment for olive harvesting can, in fact, influence the quality level of the final product.
Nowadays, mechanized or half-mechanized harvesting systems complement the traditional manual one and almost completely replace it, clearly optimizing working times as well as the productivity of the operations. For small or medium-sized farms choosing facilitated harvesting systems is a good solution to guarantee quick and advantageous results.
Here are the proposals of Campagnola for olive growers, which satisfy the requests of those who want to use electric, endothermic or pneumatic harvesters.
The advantages of electric olive harvesters
A quality olive harvester should always be designed to reach two goals: on the one hand a high harvesting capacity and on the other hand respect for the integrity of the tree and the olives. Electric harvesters are the ideal solution and represent an effective method to reduce the physical effort of the operators.
The oscillations of their flexible and interchangeable prongs ensure a correct harvesting method to guarantee the well-being of the plant, while their extremely low weight helps olive growers to use the olive harvesters among the branches very easily and avoiding any excessive stress on their limbs or their back.
The electric tools of Campagnola for olive harvesting can be powered by modern lithium-ion shoulder batteries, which are inserted into comfortable backpacks with an ergonomic shape, offering maximum comfort to the operator. This power system avoids the weight of a battery built into the tool, thus leaving one’s arms freer to move. These electric harvesters can also be powered by common 12 V lead-acid car batteries or, thanks to the introduction of ENERGY4, also by a high-performance electric generator, which can make up to four harvesting tools work at the same time.
Furthermore, our fixed or telescopic extension poles make each electric olive harvester a perfect tool for working from the ground and in complete safety. Made of aluminum or carbon, they allow to reach even the highest branches without using any ladders.
What are the main electric proposals of Campagnola?
- The new MASTER is an electric olive harvester which can be used for any type of olive tree. It is equipped with carbon prongs and a double rake performing an opposed lateral movement (at 1200 strokes per minute), to facilitate the penetration of the tool among the branches. Master is driven by a 350W brushed motor and ensures the olive grower a firm three-point grip as well as the total absence of vibrations.
- ALICE STAR has been designed for an intensive professional use and is fitted with resistant technopolymer prongs, performing an opposed elliptical movement (patented by Campagnola) and ensuring excellent penetrability and maximum respect for the branches. The different speeds (1080, 1150 and 1180 strokes per minute for ALICE STAR and 1200 strokes per minute for ALICE STAR ECO) and the electronic power saver make this tool versatile and practical, while its extremely low and balanced weight maximizes its handiness as well as the olive grower’s comfort. This electric olive harvester is operated by POWER 58 PLUS power unit, fitted with a brushless motor, which guarantees excellent performance and low maintenance needs.
- Also our ICARUS V1 electric olive harvester is offered in two versions, namely ICARUS V1 58 and ICARUS V1 ECO. What they have in common are the long interchangeable carbon prongs, which comb the branches with an opposed horizontal movement, without damaging them. Particularly lightweight and powered by our POWER 58 unit with brushless motor, both versions have been designed to be used with any kind of cultivar and breeding and can penetrate even the thickest foliage without difficulty, also thanks to their high speed (1080-1150-1180 strokes per minute for ICARUS V1 58 and 1200 strokes per minute for the ECO version). While both alternatives can be powered by an electric generator or a car battery (80/90 Ah – 12V), ICARUS V1 58 can also be used with lithium-ion backpack batteries.
- Also our HERCULES 6 electric olive harvester is offered in the two versions 58 and ECO. Its harvesting capacity is the highest in the Campagnola electric range, so it is one of the best tool choices for intensive operations on high or dense foliage trees. HERCULES 6 has long interchangeable carbon teeth, and its rakes perform an elliptical movement with excellent capacity of penetration among the branches. It is power supplied by the POWER 58 unit fitted with a brushless motor and is characterized by a practical power saver and different harvesting speeds: 1200 strokes per minute for the ECO version and 1080-1150-1180 strokes per minute for HERCULES 6 58. The two versions are also differentiated by the power supply options: an electric generator, a lithium-ion battery inserted in the backpack or a car battery for HERCULES 6 58. For HERCULES 6 ECO either a generator or a lead-acid car battery can be used.
- HOLLY is an electric olive harvester designed to ensure high performance, ease of use and versatility with any type of cultivar and is especially recommended as a tool for small olive groves. It is fitted with flexible technopolymer prongs, which perform an elliptical movement, and the POWER 58 unit with brushless motor. Its low and balanced weight allows the operator not to get tired. Also, for this tool there are three available power modes (lithium-ion battery, car battery and electric generator), which distinguish the two versions HOLLY 58 and HOLLY ECO. The speed also differentiates the two options: 1200 strokes per minute for HOLLY ECO, the choice among 1080, 1150 or 1180 strokes per minute for HOLLY 58.
- Our ELEKTRA electric olive harvester is perfect when the need is the olive trees have thin and well-pruned foliage. Its rakes perform an opposed movement. Its flexible and interchangeable prongs have two different lengths and penetrate the branches extremely easily. It has a harvesting speed of 1250 strokes per minute and a low weight and is characterized, like all Campagnola electric harvesters except for MASTER, by the position of the motor in the lower part of the extension pole, to balance the weight of the tool in an excellent way. It can be powered by an electric generator or a car battery (80/90 Ah–12 V).
- Our Campagnola DIABLO and DIABLO 1800 EVO pneumatic harvesters are the evolution of the historic TUONO model. The ability to penetrate among the branches and the smoothness even in the case of thick foliage have been optimized thanks to its technopolymer rakes and long, interchangeable elastic prongs. The magnesium alloy pneumatic motor faces the problem of freezing and the air consumption is low for both versions: 150 l/min for DIABLO 1800 EVO and 200 l/min for DIABLO. DIABLO has the same technical characteristics as DIABLO 1800 EVO, but it has a lower speed (1400 strokes per minute instead of 1800) and a wider rake movement. In fact, DIABLO 1800 EVO is characterized by the piston and rake short stroke system.
- IRON is the top of the pneumatic harvester range thanks to its harvesting capacity, high performance and extraordinary resistance to intensive use. The shape of its prongs has been patented by Campagnola and the “short stroke” system allows to reduce the opening of the rakes by increasing the speed to 1500 strokes per minute and grants efficient harvesting even in the case of olives which are resistant to detachment. Lightweight and balanced, IRON is equipped with steel or aluminum components, which extend its life over the years. Its air consumption is 170 l/min, and the maximum pressure is 8 bar.
- Our STORM pneumatic harvester guarantees effective harvesting even in the presence of olives which are resistant to detachment, thanks to the opposed lateral movement of its rakes and its long and resistant carbon teeth. Its performance is high, and it has been designed for an intensive use. It reaches 1800 strokes per minute and has a long lifespan thanks to the use of technopolymer and carbon fibre. Its weigh is very low. The practical short stroke system reduces the rake movement, and one of its pluses is the low air consumption: only 200 l/min at 8 bars.
- TUONO EVO AND METAL TOP are two of the olive harvesting Campagnola equipment which are most widespread in the world. They have been designed for a professional use with any kind of cultivar. Their rakes are equipped with tuning fork-shaped prongs (Campagnola patent), which allow quick and simple harvesting operations with any type of olive, whatever its degree of ripeness may be.Their characteristics allow to work with high efficiency, always with the utmost respect for the plant. What differentiates the two versions? TUONO EVO is fitted with the short stroke system to reduce the opening of its rakes and to bring the speed to 1800 strokes per minute.
Endothermic tools for olive harvesting
- Engine-driven olive harvesters are the third proposal in the Campagnola catalog for the facilitated harvesting of olives. In this case, the tools are driven by an integrated internal combustion engine, eliminating the presence of cables, batteries or compressors. This is the right choice for the operators who want to work with full freedom of movement.
- Our POWER MOTOR olive harvesters are available with 3 different harvesting heads: ALICE STAR, HERCULES 6 and ICARUS V1. They are powered by excellent brand combustion engines, which can provide an optimized, constant performance.
- In fact, the chosen Kawasaki engine guarantees a uniform and excellent harvesting performance, while the Campagnola manufacturing quality ensures the reliability of the endothermic tools over time.
Campagnola also proposes an engine-driven hook shaker for olive harvesting.
- GSM EL TORO EVOLUZIONE K has been designed to guarantee a high performance and is used for harvesting olives as well as fruit for the food industry.
- A 63.3 cc engine allows the operator to shake branches up to 50/60 mm in diameter and the ergonomic shape of the tool guarantees maximum working comfort. Furthermore, an advanced anti-vibration system allows to keep the tool against the operator’s body without suffering from any potentially dangerous physical stress.
